Chhattisgarh State was formed on
1st Nov., 2000. After formation of new state following progress
regarding formation of Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council, had
taken place.
By Section 30(1) of Pharmacy Act 1948, three registered
pharmacist, were appointed as member of “Registration Tribunal”
and Dr. K. L. Gopawar was appointed as Registrar & Secretary of
above “Registration Tribunal” on 01-03-2001 by the Govt. of
Chhattisgarh. The three members were:- |

1. Shri Toshan Chandrakar
2. Shri Basant Nahar
3. Shri Shanti Lal Jain
|
This tribunal was
given the order for making 1st list of Registered Pharmacist in
Chhattisgarh till 31st March, 2001 under section 30(2) of Pharmacy
Act 1948.
Dr. J. S. Bais (Opthalmologists) Joint Director AIDS Control, from
office of the Director of Health Services was appointed as Registrar
& Secretary of above said Registration Tribunal; by the Govt. order
dated 18.06.2003.
On 9th Oct., 2003 In exercise of the powers, conferred by section 19
of the Pharmacy Act 1948 (N0.-8 of 1948) The Chhattisgarh State
Government constituted the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council.
Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council consisting of following members.

Six members elected from amongst
themselves by registered pharmacists of the state, in accordance
with part (a) of section 19 of the said Act.

Five members of whom at least three,
shall be registered pharmacists nominated by the state Government
in accordance with part (b) of section 19 of the said Act.

One member elected from amongst
themselves by the members of the State Medical Council, in
accordance with part (c) of section 19 of the Said Act.

The Director Health services,
Chhattisgarh shall be ex-officio member, in accordance with part
(d) of section 19 of the said Act.
-
The Controller, Food & Drug
Administration, Chhattisgarh shall be ex-officio member, in
accordance with part (dd) of section 19 of the said Act.
-
The Drug Analyst, in the office of
the Controller, CG Food & Drug Administration was appointed as a
member, in accordance with part (e) of section 19 of the said Act.

The Director, Health Services,
Chhattisgarh was nominated as president of the Chhattisgarh
Pharmacy Council in accordance with the proviso to sub section (1)
of section 23 of the said Act.

(2) Shri Rajendra Agrawal (Raju) as Vice President (From 25-11-2009
to 20-06-2012)
(3) Shri Bharat Kumar Ajwani (From 21-08-2012 to to 28-11-2017)
(4) Shri Jagdish Patel (From 29-11-2017 to January 2019)
(5) Hon'ble Shri T.S. Singh Deo, Minister, Department of Health & Family Welfare
Govt. of Chhattisgarh (Bhar Sadhak) Working as President Temporarily Since January 2019.
