Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council was formed in the year 2003 after Chhattisgarh State was formed after it got separated from Madhya Pradesh. Chhattisgarh State pharmacy Council is a statutory body constituted by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the provisions of the Pharmacy Act of 1948 consisting of 6 members elected by Registered Pharmacists amongst themselves, five members nominated by Government of Chhattisgarh, one member elected by Chhattisgarh Medical Council and three Ex-Officio Members.
The main objective of the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council is to regulate the profession of pharmacy in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The prime function of the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council is to grant registration to the eligible pharmacists possessing requisite qualification as per the provisions of section 32(2) of the Pharmacy Act and to enforce the necessary provisions of the Pharmacy Act 1948.
The Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council office is situated at House No - 40, Anand Nagar, Raipur and having all the infrastructure and facilities required such as Computers, Xerox ,Fax, Phone & Internet Connection & record keeping system.
Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council has got over many thousands of registered pharmacists practicing in the state. Their registration is periodically renewed. Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council is committed and devoted for the cause of upgrading and upbringing the standard of Pharmacy Practice resulting in better health facilities to the common man of the state.
Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy council has started its own Drug Information Centre which is providing free unbiased drug information services since Jan2007, to all pharmacists, physicians & general public.Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council is also committed to carry on C.E.P. for upgrading community pharmacists, under the guideline prescribed by P.C.I.
